Terms of Use

These Terms govern your use of Naitsundoku: Book Tracker, a mobile app provided by Morrowshift.

Account

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use Naitsundoku. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for activity that happens under your account. You must provide accurate information when creating or updating your account.

App Features

Naitsundoku helps you track books, reading sessions, notes, flashcards, reminders, badges, and study progress. The current launch version makes these features available without subscription purchase options. AI features require an internet connection and are limited to 30 generations per user per day.

Free Launch Access

Naitsundoku is currently free to use and does not show advertisements. Optional subscription plans may be introduced in the future. Any changes to access or pricing will be communicated in advance.

Birth date is required to confirm that you are eligible to use Naitsundoku. Users under 18 cannot create an account or access the service.

AI Features

AI highlight tools can create draft notes or flashcards from text or images you submit. AI output may be incomplete or incorrect. You are responsible for reviewing and editing generated drafts before relying on them.

User Content and Limited License

You keep ownership of the books, notes, flashcards, images, highlighted text, and other content you add to the app. Morrowshift does not claim ownership of your content.

By adding content to Naitsundoku, you grant Morrowshift a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide permission to host, store, process, analyze, transform, display, and transmit that content only as needed to provide the app features you choose to use. This includes account sync, backup, AI Highlight, reminders, support, security, abuse prevention, and legal compliance.

This permission is limited to operating and improving the app. It does not give Morrowshift permission to sell your private notes or publish your private reading content as a standalone work.

Copyright and Private Study Use

You are responsible for the content you upload, scan, submit, store, generate, or share through Naitsundoku. Use the app only with content you created, own, have permission to use, or are otherwise legally allowed to process.

Naitsundoku is designed for personal reading and private study. Do not use the app to upload, scan, store, generate, share, distribute, publish, sell, or attempt to reconstruct full books, full chapters, substantial portions of books, paywalled material, DRM-protected material, or other copyrighted content in a way that infringes someone else's rights.

AI features are intended to help draft private notes and flashcards from content you lawfully provide. AI output may still reflect the source material you submitted, so you are responsible for reviewing output and using it lawfully.

Acceptable Use

• Do not use the app for unlawful, abusive, or harmful activity.
• Do not attempt to reverse engineer, disrupt, overload, or bypass access controls.
• Do not upload, scan, submit, or store content that you do not have the right to process through the app.
• Do not use Naitsundoku to create or distribute substitutes for books, paid learning materials, or other protected works.
• Do not remove copyright notices, bypass DRM, or encourage others to infringe intellectual-property rights.

Copyright Complaints and Enforcement

If you believe content in Naitsundoku infringes your copyright, contact us with enough information to identify the copyrighted work, the allegedly infringing content, your contact information, and a statement that you are authorized to submit the complaint.

We may remove or disable content, restrict features, or suspend or terminate accounts when we believe the app has been used to violate intellectual-property rights. We may terminate repeat infringers where appropriate.

Availability

We may update, suspend, or discontinue parts of the app. We try to keep the service reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access.

Disclaimer

The app is provided "as is" and "as available" to the extent allowed by law. Naitsundoku is a productivity and study tool, not professional, legal, medical, financial, or educational certification advice.
