Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Morrowshift collects and uses information for Naitsundoku: Book Tracker.

Information We Collect

• Account information, such as username, email address, birth date, optional sex, and account status.
• Approximate country information inferred during sign up or app use for security, analytics, and compliance.
• Reading and study data, such as books, reading sessions, notes, flashcards, reminders, badges, review history, and progress.
• Images or text you submit to app features, such as book cover images or AI highlight photos.
• Subscription information, such as plan tier, purchase status, product identifiers, and Google Play purchase references.
• Device, diagnostics, and crash information used to keep the app reliable and investigate errors.
• Advertising and consent signals when ads are shown, including information handled by Google AdMob and related Google services.

How We Use Information

• Provide account access, book tracking, notes, flashcards, reminders, badges, and progress features.
• Generate draft notes or flashcards when you choose to use AI highlight tools.
• Verify subscription access and apply feature limits for trial, free, basic, and premium plans.
• Show, hide, or restrict ads based on your plan, age bucket, and consent choices.
• Improve reliability, detect abuse, debug crashes, and protect the service.
• Create aggregated or anonymous metrics that do not identify individual users.

AI Highlight Processing

When you use AI highlight tools, the selected image or extracted text may be sent to an AI provider to generate draft notes or flashcards. Drafts are not saved unless you choose to save them in the app.

Advertising

Trial and free plans may show ads. Naitsundoku uses Google AdMob to request and display ads. AdMob may process device identifiers, consent signals, approximate location, and advertising-related data according to Google's policies and your choices.

Birth date is used to apply age-based ad handling. Users under 13 cannot create an account. When ads are shown to users from 13 to 17, Naitsundoku uses restricted, age-appropriate, non-personalized ad settings where supported. If age cannot be confirmed, the app does not request ads until birth date is completed.

Subscriptions

Paid plans are managed through Google Play Billing. Google Play processes payment details. Naitsundoku receives purchase status and product information so the app can unlock the correct plan.

Data Sharing

We use service providers to operate the app, including hosting, storage, email delivery, crash reporting, analytics, ads, AI processing, and Google Play Billing. We do not sell your personal information.

Data Retention

We keep account and app data while your account is active or as needed to provide the service. Some records may be kept longer when required for security, legal, tax, fraud-prevention, or dispute purposes.

Your Choices

• You can update certain account details inside the app.
• You can change ad privacy choices when Google consent controls are available.
• You can request access, correction, or deletion of your data.

Children

Naitsundoku is for users 13 and older and is not directed to children under 13. If we learn that we collected personal information from a child under 13 without appropriate consent, we will take steps to delete it. Users from 13 to 17 may use the app, and ad-supported plans use restricted ad handling for those users.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data, including encrypted transport where supported. No internet service can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
